Now that wedding season is quiet I’ve had to spend browsing social media for wedding inspo for our beachside farm venue.
I’ve always been a Facebook girl, but have found it really disheartening lately when I post something and it gets to, like, 12 people. Twitter is too fast paced for me, I’m not an office lass, I flit around on a daily basis juggling feeding pigs on the farm with planning rustic decor for a wedding and then maybe leading an alpaca walk. I don’t have enough sitty down time for Twitter.
Now Pinterest I love and is something that I will conquer in the future but for now I am getting my visual goodies fix from Instagram. Lovely, friendly Instagram where I have discovered some fab people doing great things that tie in perfectly with our wedding barn.
So, here are a few of my favourites that I have discovered this month.
These fabulous button holes by Curious Fair, they were brought to our attention on Instagram by Northumbrian Weddings and we think that they’d be amazing for an autumnal countryside wedding. We’re loving Northumbrian Weddings’ feed at the moment as we love all things local and quirky.
Weddings in Wellies are our thing! We’re in Britain, we’re on a farm, we can’t predict the weather. Fortunately we can be prepared and nothing should stop you from enjoying your Big Day, especially not the weather! Good for us that we are a nation of wellie lovers and they can so easily be incorporated into your wedding for extra quirkiness. We regrammed this post on Instagram from Photographer, Anita Nicholson’s, page as it’s just so us!
And wellies don’t have to be used as footwear as this post by Ginger House Garden shows, they make a pretty good display too!
Beach or farm weddings, we love both and our venue lends itself to both. We’re a farm right on Druridge Bay where this next photo was taken and ‘grammed by the lovely Emma Bunting. Emma makes the most beautiful hand made bunting and hires it out too. We love this shoot she did featuring a Kathryn Trueman dress and shot by Adamskii photography. Although we do agree that proposing in a wedding dress may be presumptuous!
Vintage Rice Horsebox Bars. We love them! I follow lots of them on Instagram and think that each one has been done in a fabulously unique way, they’re so versatile. Our favourite though has to be The Old Dog and Duck, which is resident bar here at The Barn on The Bay, and once again Emma’s bunting has cropped up on our feed.
Autumn is here and this month we’ve seen lots of seasonal decoration popping up in our feed. This is one of my faves, it’s by Ruby Tuesday Events and I think it’s beautiful.
Speaking of seasonal tables we came across this great idea by Betty Lou Designs and think they’d be a super idea for displaying a menu at a rustic wedding.
We’ve seen a lot of great table decoration ideas like these this month but you need tables to put them on! We love straw bales but an alternative idea are these gorgeous vintage folding tables from Birdcages and Dragonflies who are just down the road from us.
Finally, one from our own Instagram feed, as summer leaves us, this one’s for all of the couples who tied the knot this summer…
Let us know what you’ve liked most in our Instagram round up, and if you’d like to follow us we’d be super grateful.
Don’t forget that we’re also giving away a chance to win a Hen Party here at Barn on The Bay in conjunction with The Clarty Events Company, click below for more information.
